The Vibe: A unique place where you can travel back in time and taste socialist Yugoslavia in a mid-century aesthetics and design but fully in modern comfort.

The Area: On a sycamore-lined street in the historic centre of Belgrade.

The DNA: Yugodom stay-over museum is the brain child of interior designer and collector Mario Milaković. On a scope of over 3 years Milaković had been collecting and refurbishing mid-century modern furniture and decorations “Made in Yugoslavia”, creating a unique guesthouse where guests have a chance to step into the country that doesn’t exist any longer offering unique design, historical and local experience. The apartment is set in a 1960s army officer’s accommodation building.

Suite-Me-Up: The apartment consists of a spacious living room/lounge, two bedrooms, a study/office, a kitchenette and an en suite bathroom with shower and tub. It is dedicated to 1960s cinematography and it’s named after the legendary music-comedy film Ljubav i mode. The master bedroom is an homage to 1970s Yugoslav banned movies that dealt with taboo topics for those times and named “Mysteries of the Organism” after Makavejev’s cult film. The lounge exhibits movie posters from the 1980s and is a tribute to the camp comedies of that decade. Guests can use the kitchenette to self-cater with foods from the Bajloni farmers’ market across the street. Otherwise an array of restaurants and bars can be found within walking distance.
