BISHA, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Toronto
Toronto’s boldest luxury hotel combines fashion, art, nightlife, and rock-and-roll glamour in the heart of the Entertainment District.
Why DNA Hotels Loves It
● One of Toronto’s most daring design hotels, where Studio Munge and Lenny Kravitz bring together luxury, music, fashion, and art.
● Dramatic interiors layered with marble, velvet, leather, brass, and more than 2,000 carefully curated artworks.
● A rooftop infinity pool and some of the city’s most vibrant restaurants make the hotel as much a destination for locals as for guests.
Where Toronto’s Creative Energy Comes Alive
Located between Toronto’s Fashion District and Entertainment District, BISHA perfectly reflects the city’s confident, cosmopolitan character. Created by nightlife entrepreneur Charles Khabouth, the hotel occupies the site of the former Second City comedy theatre, transformed into a striking 44-storey tower that combines luxury hotel, residences, restaurants, and nightlife under one roof. Unlike traditional luxury hotels, BISHA embraces personality over convention. It feels glamorous without becoming formal, contemporary without losing warmth, and effortlessly connected to Toronto’s creative scene.
Design with Attitude
Toronto-based Studio Munge shaped much of the hotel’s distinctive visual identity, creating interiors that feel theatrical yet sophisticated. The arrival immediately sets the tone. Black-and-white marble floors laid in an intricate arabesque pattern lead into spaces wrapped in lacquered wood, crushed velvet wall panels, polished brass, natural stone, rich leather, and carefully layered lighting. Suspended overhead, hand-blown glass birds by Jeff Goodman Studio float through the lobby, while a custom fragrance completes the immersive sensory experience. Throughout the hotel, dramatic contrasts between dark finishes, jewel tones, and warm materials create interiors that feel intimate, glamorous, and unmistakably original.
The Lenny Kravitz Suites
One entire floor was designed by Kravitz Design, the studio founded by musician Lenny Kravitz. These suites bring together the effortless cool of a rock star’s private residence with refined contemporary luxury. Dark timber, mirrored surfaces, bronze accents, sumptuous fabrics, vintage-inspired furnishings, and carefully curated artwork create spaces that feel personal rather than staged. At the top sits the spectacular Presidential Suite, where panoramic city views, dramatic lighting, bespoke furniture, and generous entertaining spaces transform the experience into something closer to an exclusive penthouse than a conventional hotel suite.
Art, Dining, and Rooftop Views
Art forms an essential part of BISHA’s identity. More than 2,000 works are displayed throughout the property, curated by Grace Zeppilli of GZ International. Pieces by Damien Hirst, works from Charles Khabouth’s private Jeff Koons collection, and installations by Canadian artists create an atmosphere where contemporary art becomes part of the guest experience rather than simple decoration. The culinary offering is equally ambitious. French Made brings Parisian café culture into an all-day setting, while Akira Back delivers bold contemporary Japanese cuisine. High above the city, KŌST occupies the 44th floor, pairing California and Baja-inspired cooking with spectacular panoramic views across Lake Ontario, the CN Tower, and Toronto’s skyline. The rooftop infinity pool completes the experience, becoming one of the city’s most coveted places to spend a summer afternoon.
Luxury with Personality
What separates BISHA from many contemporary luxury hotels is its confidence. Rather than chasing understated elegance, it embraces glamour, creativity, and individuality. Every public space encourages social interaction, every restaurant has its own identity, and every design decision contributes to an atmosphere that feels energetic without becoming overwhelming. It’s a hotel designed for people who appreciate great design, contemporary culture, exceptional dining, and a little theatrical flair.
Why it Works
BISHA is one of Toronto’s most distinctive luxury hotels because it refuses to play it safe. Studio Munge’s dramatic interiors, Lenny Kravitz’s unmistakable creative signature, an outstanding contemporary art collection, and a vibrant collection of restaurants and rooftop spaces combine to create a hotel that feels bold, stylish, and unapologetically confident. For travelers seeking luxury with genuine personality, BISHA remains one of Canada’s most exciting urban stays.
