A New Chapter for Martigny
Opened April 2025, Hôtel Borsari is more than just a hotel—it’s John Cretton’s love letter to Martigny. This once-overlooked Swiss town, rooted in Roman history and nestled at the crossroads of Italy, France, and Switzerland, has quietly evolved into a place of peace, charm, and sunshine. From here, guests can easily reach Zermatt, Chamonix, and Montreux—but Borsari invites you to slow down and stay awhile.
Where Wine Tanks Become Rooms
Built on the site of 19th-century wine cellars, the 50 rooms and suites are each named after historic wine tanks, or borsaris. The design blends raw concrete, bold color palettes, and rich textures, with inspiration drawn from Roman baths, mid-century modernism, and industrial elegance. Forget the sterile: there are no TVs, no plastic keycards, no soulless white tiles—just oak floors, flannel curtains, vintage audio systems, and tactile light switches. The underground thermal baths, carved into the old wine tanks, deliver an offline escape like no other.
A Cultural & Culinary Hub
Set at the heart of LôDzè, Martigny’s new cultural district, Hôtel Borsari is designed as a lifestyle destination. Guests and locals mingle at La Saucithèque wine bar, the Alphonse café, and Le Cercle, where chef Matteo Salas serves regionally inspired dishes with a European twist—all perfect for lingering conversations and late-night storytelling.
Analog Living, Digital-Free Philosophy
Cretton’s ethos is simple: “Analog, not digital. Everything you need and nothing more.” Here, luxury is defined not by gold taps or flat-screens, but by warmth, soul, and good taste: soft water, bold design, great wine, and a chance to unplug.
DNA Hotels Verdict
Hôtel Borsari is Martigny’s most exciting rebirth—an architectural statement and a sanctuary for slow living. For travelers who crave soulful design, a sense of place, and a true break from the digital grind, Borsari is the analog antidote to modern travel.
