Historic Berlin, Carefully Reimagined
The hotel occupies two restored buildings dating from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Working with architect David Chipperfield and Studio Irina Kromayer, the restoration preserves elegant proportions, herringbone parquet floors, colourful handmade tiles, marble details, and beautifully crafted joinery while introducing a calm contemporary sensibility. The result feels sophisticated without becoming formal, balancing Berlin’s layered history with modern hospitality. History remains visible. Nothing feels nostalgic.

Across the guestrooms and suites, individuality replaces repetition. Each room features a unique artwork by a different contemporary artist connected to Berlin, ranging from painting and photography to installations.
