Writer Francisco Palma-Dias and anthropologist Eglantina Monteiro transformed the working farm into a boutique retreat where agriculture, architecture, and hospitality remain inseparable. Architecture That Respects Its Surroundings
The restoration is an exercise in quiet restraint. Working with architect Pedro Ressano Garcia, former barns, an olive mill, and agricultural buildings were carefully adapted rather than reinvented. Limewashed walls, exposed stone, reed ceilings, polished concrete, local cork, and simple volumes preserve the character of the original farm while introducing clean contemporary spaces that feel timeless rather than fashionable. Nothing feels overdesigned. Everything feels considered.

Each of the guestrooms and apartments reflects the history of the farm. Original timber beams, traditional reed ceilings, restored agricultural machinery, handcrafted furnishings, natural materials, and soft whitewashed interiors create rooms that are calm, tactile, and deeply connected to place.
