Conceived by Marugal Hotel Management and brought to life by Palma-based studio Antonio Obrador, the design language is pure Mediterranean—44 rooms and suites scattered across low-slung bungalows and duplexes, each carefully woven into the natural landscape. Interiors echo the surroundings: earthy terracotta, sun-faded jute, whitewashed plaster, and panoramic windows that dissolve the line between inside and out. The effect is simple, serene, and deeply connected to place.
Rooms Rooted in Nature
Every accommodation is designed as a sanctuary. Garden suites open onto shaded terraces beneath juniper trees, while upper-level rooms frame views across dunes to the turquoise Balearic horizon. Handmade ceramics, woven lamps, and rustic wooden furnishings nod to island craft traditions, while natural palettes of sand, clay, and stone bring the outdoors in. It’s design that is both grounded and elevated—luxury stripped back to its essentials.
Caliu: Fire and Flavor
The beating heart of the retreat is Caliu, the on-site restaurant where Mediterranean cooking meets elemental fire. Here, dishes are prepared over a Josper grill, letting smoke and flame shape their character. Grilled octopus, seabass ceviche, local meats, and artisan pizzas highlight ingredients sourced from Formentera’s farmers and fishermen. Guests dine al fresco, beneath a canopy of juniper or with their toes in the sand, in an atmosphere that feels both celebratory and unpretentious.
