Hôtel des Horlogers

The DNA

Hôtel des Horlogers, Jura
Time, Ticked to Perfection in Le Brassus

A Design That Flows Like Time

In the quiet embrace of the Vallée de Joux, where Swiss watchmaking was born and perfected, stands a hotel that doesn’t just honor time—it embodies it. Hôtel des Horlogers is not your typical alpine escape. It’s a living tribute to precision, heritage, and the poetic ticking heartbeat of the horological world. Nestled in Le Brassus, the cradle of haute horlogerie and home to iconic watchmaker Audemars Piguet, Hôtel des Horlogers offers more than a place to rest your head. Here, architecture, nature, and history converge in a choreography as precise as the mechanisms it celebrates.

Designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), the hotel appears to glide down the Jura slope in a series of elegant, zig-zagging ramps. Rather than disrupt the landscape, it becomes part of it—melding with the forest, echoing the contours of the land, and framing sweeping views of the Risoud woods through every floor-to-ceiling window. Inside, time slows. The interiors, conceived by Swiss studio CCHE, are an elegant composition of larch wood, stone, and soft wool. They whisper comfort without ostentation. Each of the 50 rooms and suites feels like a private cocoon, where modernity and alpine warmth co-exist in understated harmony.

From Manufacture to Mindfulness

At Hôtel des Horlogers, everything tells a story—especially the food. Michelin-starred chef Emmanuel Renaut, known for his mastery at Flocons de Sel in Megève, oversees the hotel’s two restaurants: La Table des Horlogers and Le Bar des Horlogers. Locally sourced ingredients, Jura flavors, and culinary precision create a gastronomic experience that is as mindful and seasonal as the finest timepiece.

And if you’ve come for a deeper connection, the hotel invites you to step beyond the superficial. Adjacent is the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet, a spiral of glass and steel that reveals the magic behind some of the most complex mechanical marvels in the world. Guests can arrange private tours or even time their stay with exclusive horology workshops.

A Sustainable Pulse

The soul of Hôtel des Horlogers beats with a green conscience. It’s the first hotel in Switzerland to receive Minergie-ECO certification for its sustainable construction. Geothermal energy, natural ventilation, locally sourced materials, and thoughtful design all ensure that every moment here is in sync not just with luxury, but with responsibility.

Even the slopes are sustainable—literally. In winter, guests can ski directly from the hotel doors down to the valley trails. In summer, hiking and cycling routes unveil a landscape that feels untouched, save for the centuries-old rhythm of the watchmakers’ craft.

The DNA Hotels Verdict

Staying at Hôtel des Horlogers is like entering a perfectly wound watch—everything has purpose, nothing is rushed, and every detail is an homage to time’s quiet majesty. It’s where the mechanical becomes meditative, where design meets discipline, and where the pulse of nature syncs with the pulse of a Swiss tourbillon. So if you’re craving more than just mountains—if you want memory over moment, meaning over movement—then make your way to Le Brassus. Hôtel des Horlogers awaits. And time? It’s already on your side.
