Hotel Lilou – Glamour Revived in Hyères
A Riviera Classic, Reborn
A Touch of Grandeur Returns
The newly renovated Hotel Lilou has brought a touch of glamour back to Hyères, reviving the spirit of this sun-soaked retreat once favored by 19th-century English aristocrats. Combining 1920s elegance with a nod to the city’s Moorish-inspired architecture, this Haussmann-style jewel from the 1890s has been lovingly transformed by hoteliers Lisa and David Pirone. After a three-year restoration, Lilou reopened, offering a harmonious blend of grandeur and warmth.
Design with Soul
Ceiling moldings, geometric lines, and rattan furnishings set the tone, while arched doorways evoke the charm of early 19th-century design. The lounge exudes relaxed sophistication with seagrass wallpaper, white trellises, and inviting rattan sofas upholstered in textured fabrics. At its heart is a striking bar clad in burr poplar veneer, perfect for gathering with friends. In keeping with its welcoming ethos, there’s no traditional reception desk; instead, guests are greeted by a friendly front-of-house team and encouraged to settle in like old friends.
Dining on the Terrace
The restaurant extends onto a stunning terrace framed by Palladian columns and cascading vines, where Mediterranean cuisine by Emmanuel Perrodin takes center stage. For a more intimate experience, a private tasting room accommodates up to 12 guests, creating a space for long evenings and memorable gatherings.
Art and Atmosphere in Every Room
The 37 guest rooms are equally enchanting, adorned with curated works by 14 local artists, selected by Jean-Pierre Blanc, director of the nearby Villa Noailles. Each space is imbued with a unique sense of local artistry and timeless style.
DNA Hotels Verdict
Hotel Lilou isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a celebration of Hyères’ gentle pace of life, inviting guests to gather, unwind, and enjoy the timeless beauty of the French Riviera. A Riviera classic has been reborn—elegant, soulful, and deeply welcoming.
