Located above MUJI’s largest standalone store—a destination with its own bakery, expansive diner, and five floors of over 7,000 products—the hotel is both an accommodation and an immersive brand experience. By situating the hotel on the upper levels, guests are anchored within Ginza’s energy while retreating into MUJI’s world of calm simplicity.


Guest Rooms as MUJI Manifesto

The 79 guest rooms serve as a manifesto of MUJI’s no-frills design language. Each is equipped with the essentials: comfortable mattresses, fluffy towels, travel pajamas, LED desk lights, and branded amenities from cleansers to toothpaste. Yet despite the abundance of product, the overall atmosphere avoids feeling commercial. Instead, it translates MUJI’s core philosophy into a holistic environment.

Materials root the rooms in quiet warmth: oak floors, tatami mats, earthen walls, and bathrooms finished in natural stone. Custom-developed sinks and bathtubs, honed from MUJI’s Chinese hotel experiments, add subtle touches of luxury. Functionality is elevated into beauty, with every object both useful and considered.


Public Spaces as Brand Immersion

Though compact, MUJI HOTEL Ginza’s public areas extend the design ethos. Minimalist lounges and corridors highlight material honesty rather than ornamentation. Guests are encouraged to explore the store below, where the brand’s universe of objects reinforces the continuity between lifestyle, retail, and hospitality. Here, architecture and interiors do not aim for spectacle but for quiet presence, ensuring the guest experience is seamless with MUJI’s identity.
