Opened in 2025 on New York’s historic Bowery, this 180-cabin micro hotel reimagines the classic boarding house for a new generation of independent travellers. Inspired by Japanese capsule hotels, European sleeper trains, and New York’s creative energy, it offers an experience that’s compact without ever feeling compromised. The result isn’t simply a smaller hotel room. It’s an entirely different way of staying.
Design That Makes Every Inch Count
Designed by New York-based Islyn Studio, the interiors balance efficiency with warmth. The building itself once operated as a lodging house more than a century ago, and rather than fighting its compact proportions, the designers embraced them. Calm earth tones, rounded architectural details, mosaic flooring, and softly layered materials create an atmosphere that feels surprisingly peaceful amid the intensity of Lower Manhattan. The cabins are deliberately minimal yet remarkably complete. Each features a premium Wright mattress, luxurious Garnier-Thiebaut linens, Brooklinen robes, soft lighting, charging stations, under-bed storage, sleep masks, slippers, earplugs, and sound machines—all carefully selected to maximise comfort within a remarkably compact footprint. The larger “Now or Never” cabins add colourful murals by local artists, bringing a playful layer of individuality to the experience.
Thoughtful Hospitality for Independent Travellers
Now Now understands that travelling alone shouldn’t mean feeling isolated. The hotel’s dedicated Women+ floor offers an additional level of comfort for women and non-binary travellers, complete with secure shared facilities, lockable private shower rooms, and Grown Alchemist amenities. Downstairs, the guest lounge becomes the social heart of the hotel. Colourful without being overwhelming, it shifts effortlessly throughout the day—from quiet coworking sessions in the morning to informal gatherings, wine evenings, wellness classes, and neighbourhood events after dark. Rather than creating forced interaction, it simply provides opportunities for connection whenever guests feel like participating.
Borrow Instead of Pack
One of the hotel’s smartest ideas is its lending library. Rather than filling rooms with unnecessary gadgets, guests can borrow everything from instant cameras and vintage Game Boys to ring lights, wellness devices, and noise-cancelling headphones. It’s a playful concept that feels perfectly suited to a generation that values access over ownership.
A Downtown Basecamp
Located in NoHo, the hotel places guests within walking distance of some of New York’s best cafés, restaurants, galleries, boutiques, and nightlife.
