Playa Vik José Ignacio – Futuristic Seaside Utopia
Space-Age Seafront
From the front, Playa Vik looks like it just landed from another planet—in the best possible way. A gravity-defying titanium-and-glass structure juts out from the dunes like a sleek spaceship above the Atlantic. Designed by Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott (of Paris Opera Bastille fame), this six-suite “sculptural building” redefines what beach luxury can look like.
The “Sculpture” House
The main pavilion—nicknamed the “Sculpture”—houses sweeping indoor/outdoor living spaces framed by monumental art, including an Anselm Kiefer piece dominating the dining area. The infinity pool literally stretches into the horizon, cantilevered out over the sand, tiled with South American constellations. There are also six chic casitas dotted through the grounds, for extra privacy and discreet barefoot glamour.
Barefoot High Design
Inside, it’s all polished concrete floors, design-forward furniture, curated bookshelves, and floor-to-ceiling glass showcasing nothing but sea and sky. Add local hardwoods, custom murals, and open-air terraces, and the sensory experience is pure José Ignacio magic.
DNA Hotels Verdict
Where Estancia Vik celebrates the land, Playa Vik gazes outward—towards horizon, stars, and future. This is design-led escapism for aesthetes, minimalists, and style savants with sand between their toes.
