Sea Sea Surf Club
A Retro Surf Paradise in Crescent Head

A Slice of ’70s Cool

If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping back in time to the golden age of surfing—when the waves were endless, the tans were real, and everything felt a little softer around the edges—Sea Sea Surf Club in Crescent Head is your portal. Opened in November 2024, this retro-chic surf sanctuary is the passion project of George Gorrow (of Ksubi fame) and his wife, Cisco Tschurtschenthaler. Their goal wasn’t simply to open a hotel—it was to bottle a feeling.
Warm timber walls, golden tones, and original surf photography by Peter Crawford infuse the space with vintage soul, while modern comforts keep the nostalgia from tipping into kitsch. With 25 rooms—ranging from breezy studios to Balinese-inspired villas with private pools—every stay feels personal, sun-drenched, and a bit rebellious.

More Than Just a Hotel

Sea Sea is less a lodging and more a lifestyle. The clubhouse is the beating heart of the property: part surf shop, part gallery, part hi-fi lounge, and entirely vibey. Here, barefoot wanderers mix with design lovers, surfers, and creatives. A wellness space—complete with a heated magnesium pool, sauna, and ice baths—keeps bodies soothed and spirits grounded after long sessions in the water.
Sea Sea Sane Kitchen elevates the experience with a menu built on Macleay Valley’s finest ingredients. Chef Daniel Medcalf crafts dishes that feel both coastal and contemporary—fresh seafood, vibrant veggies, honest flavors. Natural wines courtesy of P&V Wine + Liquor Merchants round out the ritual perfectly.

Surf, Chill, Repeat

At Sea Sea, surfing isn’t an amenity—it’s the culture. Crescent Head’s iconic right-hand point break is just moments from your door, and the hotel’s quiver includes boards from the cult-favorite Wild Things Gallery. Whether you’re carving, cruising, or simply learning to stand, this is one of Australia’s most beloved waves for a reason.

A Place with Soul

For George and Cisco, Sea Sea Surf Club isn’t a business—it’s a love letter to surf culture, slow living, and the freedom of salty days with no fixed plans. It’s a place alive with music, sunshine, and tactile beauty. A sanctuary where time stretches, conversations linger, and the nostalgia isn’t borrowed—it’s created.

DNA Hotels Verdict

Sea Sea Surf Club is retro surfing reimagined: sun-warmed, soulful, and stylish without trying. A coastal hideout where vintage energy meets modern ease, and where every moment feels like a page torn from an old surf magazine—creased, loved, and utterly timeless.
