Sir Adam

The DNA

Sir Adam, Amsterdam
Where Music, Design and Amsterdam’s Creative Spirit Come Together

Why DNA Hotels Loves It

● A bold lifestyle hotel inside the iconic A’DAM Tower, overlooking Amsterdam’s skyline and the IJ River.
● Music-inspired interiors by New York studio ICRAVE, with vinyl turntables, guitars and creative spaces woven throughout the hotel.
● A lively social atmosphere where locals and travellers meet over burgers, cocktails, live music and panoramic city views.

A New Beat for Amsterdam Noord

Few hotels capture the creative energy of Amsterdam Noord quite like Sir Adam. Occupying the first eight floors of the landmark A’DAM Tower, formerly Shell’s headquarters, the hotel transformed one of the city’s most recognizable office buildings into a vibrant destination where music, design and culture take centre stage. Surrounded by creative studios, galleries, restaurants and the EYE Filmmuseum, it perfectly reflects the remarkable evolution of this once-industrial neighbourhood. It’s less a hotel than a cultural clubhouse with rooms.

Designed to Rock

Interiors by New York-based design studio ICRAVE celebrate the building’s industrial heritage while embracing the rebellious spirit of music culture. Raw concrete ceilings, exposed structural columns and floor-to-ceiling windows create a powerful architectural backdrop, softened by warm colours, vintage-inspired furnishings and contemporary artwork. Throughout the hotel, playful design moments appear where you least expect them, reminding guests that Sir Adam never takes itself too seriously. Even the elevators become part of the experience, including a legendary disco lift complete with mirror ball, illuminated dance floor and classic seventies soundtrack.

Rooms That Come with Their Own Soundtrack

The 108 guestrooms continue the musical narrative. Every room features a Crosley record player alongside a carefully curated vinyl collection, while selected rooms even include Gibson guitars for guests inspired to create their own soundtrack. Song lyrics are subtly etched into mirrors, local artwork fills the walls and expansive windows frame spectacular views across Amsterdam’s historic centre, Central Station and the IJ River. Industrial architecture meets residential comfort in spaces that feel creative, relaxed and unmistakably Amsterdam.

The Social Heart of the Tower

Traditional hotel lobbies have little place here. Instead, guests arrive at The Hub—a lively combination of co-working space, lounge, concept store and music library where conversations flow as easily as the coffee. It’s equally suited to remote working, spontaneous meetings or simply relaxing with a stack of design books and a favourite record. Just downstairs, The Butcher Social Club has become one of Amsterdam Noord’s favourite meeting places, serving gourmet burgers, craft cocktails and a lively atmosphere that effortlessly blends locals with international visitors.

Above the City

The A’DAM Tower itself offers experiences found nowhere else in Amsterdam. At the top, Europe’s highest swing sends visitors soaring over the edge of the building, while panoramic terraces reveal spectacular views across the canals, harbour and historic skyline. Whether you’re enjoying a drink above the city or simply watching the ferries glide across the IJ below, the perspective is unforgettable. It’s Amsterdam from an entirely different angle.

Why It Works

Sir Adam embraces everything that makes Amsterdam Noord one of Europe’s most exciting creative neighbourhoods. Music, design, architecture and hospitality blend effortlessly inside one of the city’s most iconic buildings, creating a hotel that feels energetic without trying too hard. Bold, playful and full of personality, it’s a destination for travellers who like their hotels with a soundtrack.
