Thompson Nashville
Design-Forward Sophistication in the Heart of Music City
Southern Swagger with a Modern Edge
Set in Nashville’s trendsetting Gulch neighborhood, Thompson Nashville is a sleek 12-story beacon of style where modern architecture meets Southern soul. Opened in 2016 and designed by Hastings Architecture, the zinc-paneled exterior and curved brick base nod to the area’s rail yard roots while firmly planting the hotel in the now.
Design That Strikes a Chord
Step inside and you’re met with warm woods, custom art, and just the right dose of edge. The compass rose-inspired wooden floor in the lobby—crafted from salvaged materials by local artist Patrick Hayes—anchors a space that pulses with Nashville’s creative spirit. Guest rooms take a similar approach: floor-to-ceiling windows, custom rugs, Flat Vernacular wallpaper, and hardwood floors give each space a residential-meets-retro-modern vibe that’s rich in texture and soul.
A Taste of the Scene
Food and drink are as much a part of the experience here as the design:
-
Marsh House serves up Gulf-to-Gulch seafood in a stunning space of patterned floors and smoky-glass chandeliers.
-
L.A. Jackson, the rooftop bar, is the crown jewel—complete with flamingo-pink tiles, skyline views, and a concrete centerpiece bar that draws locals and guests alike.
-
Killebrew Coffee keeps it casual with house-made pastries and expertly poured local brews.
Creative Crossroads
From curated local art to collaborations with Nashville makers, Thompson Nashville doesn’t just reflect its city—it champions it. The Gulch location puts you within arm’s reach of everything from legendary music venues to indie boutiques and hidden cocktail bars.
DNA Hotels Verdict
Sleek yet soulful, contemporary yet grounded in local character, Thompson Nashville is where Music City’s modern identity comes to life. Whether you’re here for the design, the rooftop scene, or the creative energy, this is the Nashville stay that hits all the right notes.
