Marram Mountauk hotel

Marram | Montauk, Long Island

The Vibe: Surf lessons, private energy healing, salt cave therapy, personalized tarot readings, singing bowl sound bath – you get the picture.

The Area: Named after the wild grass that grows on the sand dunes surrounding the property, the hotel sits directly on the beach, a few minutes walk from town.

The DNA: Marram touts the whole package with a heated outdoor pool, oceanfront rooms that boast sea views, courtyard rooms that overlook a well-planted courtyard, and a comprehensive program of activities to enjoy. All the rooms have outdoor balconies and a light, neutral palette that’s further enhanced with a bevvy of personalised touches. Exposed white oak beams complement hand-textured plaster walls, while handwoven rugs, furniture made from wood reclaimed from old houses and fishing boats add a cosy and inviting feel. In addition to strolling along the hotel’s secluded pathways, guests hang out at the café, Mostrador, which serves Latin American fare.

Suite-Me-Up: Two new luxury suites take design cues from the resort’s standard rooms including art by renowned beach and surf photographer Brian Bielmann and minimalist line-work from Rhode Island-based musician and artist Sean Spellman. Both 60m2 (650 sq ft) suites offer plush linens from Frette, amenities from Le Labo, steam showers, a lounge and kitchen space, as well as outdoor spaces overlooking the ocean. The upper level Terrace Suite’s oceanfront balcony allows guests to take in unparalleled sunset views, while the Garden Suite has a private outdoor dining space, ideal for hosting events.
