The DNA: Monsieur Didot is a former private residence which has been converted into a luxury guest house. The listed neoclassical building is located in Athens‘ Kolonaki quarter. renovated by design studio, Babatchas. A mix of rooms and suites provide a home-away-from-home aesthetic: spacious and luxurious, with interiors blending modern architecture and heritage. The company behind Monsieur Didot consists of 5 young people aged 35 to 45, all friends to each other, and all civil engineers. Their vision is to make guest houses or hotels in Athens that lay their inspiration to the neighborhood and its vibes and offer guests an authentic experience. Monsieur Didot is their first hotel in Athens. Here, travellers will find a genuine living experience and the warmest of hospitality; spaces designed to “host everyday stories unique to your being.” A neutral palette and natural materials set the scene: some of Monsieur Didot’s suites and rooms are home to carved marble fireplaces; others imposing bookcases; marble balconies and/or private verandas that boast impressive city views. Intricately drawn ceilings and walls have been revealed and restored in the hotel’s main entrance, as well as in several guest rooms, whilst secret doors have been introduced to create a touch of mysticism.
