A Building with Many Stories
In the heart of Copenhagen’s historic Indre By district, four nineteenth-century buildings have been brought together to create a hotel unlike any other. Over the years, the complex has served as a porcelain factory, printing house, and university, with each chapter leaving traces that remain visible today. Rather than smoothing away those layers, the renovation celebrates them, allowing history to become part of the guest experience. The building never forgot its past. It simply found a new purpose.
Designed with a Sense of Play
Martin Brudnizki Design Studio approaches the interiors with characteristic confidence. Colour, texture, vintage finds, oversized artwork, graphic patterns, and unexpected objects are combined into richly layered spaces that never feel overly polished. The concept, inspired by the idea of Coming of Age, introduces playful references to art, science, literature, and student life throughout the hotel. Every corner reveals something unexpected. Curiosity is part of the design.
Rooms Full of Personality
The hotel’s 243 guestrooms are divided into the contrasting themes of Passion and Knowledge. Rich fabrics, expressive colours, contemporary furnishings, and playful details ensure that no two stays feel exactly alike. Some rooms open onto private terraces overlooking the hotel’s secluded garden, an unusually peaceful retreat hidden within Copenhagen’s bustling historic centre. The atmosphere feels relaxed. Yet wonderfully individual.
The Social Heart of the Hotel

The Assembly Hall functions as a flexible meeting place where freelancers, travellers, and locals gather throughout the day, while hidden spaces such as the Love Library and vinyl room invite guests to slow down and explore.
