A Brutalist Landmark Reimagined
At Six has become the catalyst for the revival of Stockholm’s Brunkebergstorg. Originally designed in the 1970s by architects Boijsen & Efvergren as a monumental bank headquarters, the imposing Brutalist structure has been transformed into a contemporary metropolitan hotel without losing the strength of its original architecture. Universal Design Studio softened the building’s monumental character through carefully layered materials, generous public spaces, and a distinctly Scandinavian sense of comfort.
