Why DNA Hotels Loves It

● Cleverly designed rooms that maximise comfort while eliminating everything you don’t need.
● A fresh hospitality concept that replaces traditional hotel rituals with flexibility, community, and freedom.
● Contemporary interiors by The Invisible Party that perfectly reflect Rotterdam’s progressive character.

A Hotel for a New Generation

hotel emma next challenges many of the conventions of traditional hospitality. Designed for travellers who value experiences over excess, the hotel offers a stay that’s uncomplicated, flexible, and refreshingly intuitive. Instead of oversized rooms and unnecessary luxuries, the focus is on smart design, exceptional comfort, and inviting communal spaces where guests can work, relax, or simply enjoy a coffee. It’s a hotel that understands how people travel today.

Small Rooms, Big Ideas

Spread across five floors, the hotel transforms a former municipal building into a surprisingly spacious experience. The 28 guestrooms range from compact to comfortable, but every square metre has been carefully considered by Amsterdam design studio The Invisible Party. The long, narrow floor plans inspired a completely different room layout: guests enter through the bathroom, allowing the sleeping area to become the true heart of the room. Extra-large beds sit beside the windows, doubling as places to sleep, work, watch a film or simply unwind after a day exploring Rotterdam. Less space. More purpose.

Design That Makes You Disconnect

Inspired by the idea of “plugging in to unplug,” the interiors combine playful colour with practical innovation. Soft pistachio green, lavender, blush pink and rust orange are paired with terrazzo, subtle neon accents and graphic details inspired by analogue television static—a nostalgic reminder to disconnect from the constant digital noise. Multifunctional furniture replaces traditional wardrobes, while open storage, clever workspaces and integrated technology create rooms that feel surprisingly generous. Every detail encourages a slower pace.

Shared Spaces, Shared Energy

Beyond the guestrooms, hotel emma next becomes a social destination. A welcoming coffee bar remains open throughout the day, while generous communal spaces invite guests to work, meet or simply spend time together. Rather than separating travellers behind closed doors, the hotel encourages connection—reflecting the collaborative energy that defines Rotterdam itself. The atmosphere feels relaxed, creative and refreshingly informal.

Why It Works

hotel emma next understands that modern luxury isn’t measured in square metres. It’s found in thoughtful design, exceptional comfort and the freedom to experience a city on your own terms. By stripping away everything unnecessary while keeping everything that matters, it delivers an honest, contemporary hotel experience that feels perfectly at home in one of Europe’s most innovative cities.
