The Eressian Hotel & Hammam Spa carries a heartfelt story. Its owner, Alex Michalas, revived a family treasure: his great-great-grandfather’s house, originally built in the early 1900s. Alex’s grandmother, born here in the 1910s, sold the property in the 1950s to seek new opportunities in Athens. Decades later, in a full-circle moment, Alex repurchased and lovingly restored it, transforming it into a boutique haven that opened its doors in 2020. The design celebrates the home’s original charm, with carefully preserved wooden floors, a majestic staircase, and both internal and external masonry—all reflecting the story and soul of a family legacy renewed.
A 19th-Century Mansion, Lovingly Revived
Housed in a beautifully restored neoclassical mansion, the four-suite hotel feels less like a resort and more like a private home—one with marble floors, carved wooden ceilings, and centuries of quiet dignity built into its bones. Every corner whispers the island’s layered history, yet the atmosphere is intimate, warm, and effortlessly refined.
