Rickhouse Revival

Designed by local firm EOP Architects, the brick-clad exterior takes inspiration from Kentucky’s historic bourbon warehouses, known as rickhouses. Inside, New York designer Jenny Bukovec developed an aesthetic she describes as “Rickhouse Revival”—a sophisticated interpretation of Kentucky’s industrial and agricultural heritage. Rich wood panelling, custom terracotta details, handmade brick flooring, leather seating, and vintage furnishings sourced from local dealers create a layered and deeply personal atmosphere. Downstairs, Granddam restaurant takes its name from the matriarch of a horse’s bloodline and serves contemporary interpretations of Kentucky classics in a handsome setting of wood, leather, and soft lighting. Throughout the day, the hotel buzzes with a mix of hotel guests, neighbourhood regulars, and Lexington residents who have adopted the property as one of their favourite gathering places. That sense of community gives The Manchester an energy that many luxury hotels lack.
The Lost Palm
