La Novieta

The DNA

La Novieta, Valencia, Spain
An Intimate Modernista Hideaway Filled with Vintage Design and Parisian Flair

Why DNA Hotels Loves It

● A beautifully restored 1924 Modernista townhouse with just four individually designed guestrooms.
● Thoughtfully curated interiors by Maisons BoEM, blending vintage furniture, contemporary art, and original architectural details.
● An intimate adults-only retreat where every object, material, and artwork contributes to the story.

A Modernista House Reborn

Hidden on a quiet street beside Valencia’s vibrant Ruzafa neighbourhood, La Novieta proves that the smallest hotels often leave the biggest impression. Originally built in 1924, the Modernista townhouse has been lovingly restored by owners Bertrand and Fabien, founders of interior design studio Maisons BoEM. Rather than reinventing the building, they embraced its original character, preserving decorative plasterwork, historic wooden doors, handcrafted tiles, and generous ceiling heights while introducing a distinctly contemporary sensibility. It feels less like a hotel. More like the private home of passionate collectors.

A Curated World of Design

Every room tells a carefully composed story. Furniture from the 1920s through the 1970s sits effortlessly alongside nineteenth-century artworks and contemporary photography, creating interiors that feel layered rather than staged. Vintage Tito Agnoli armchairs, Gasisa chairs, bespoke pieces, ceramics, carefully selected textiles, and works by artists including Matthieu Paley, Darya Yartzeva, and Marina Abramović give each space its own quiet personality. Parisian refinement meets Spanish warmth. The balance feels entirely natural.

Only Four Rooms

With just four guestrooms, La Novieta offers an intimacy that larger boutique hotels simply cannot replicate. Warm colours, vintage furnishings, luxurious fabrics, underfloor heating, and beautifully restored architectural details create spaces that feel calm, comfortable, and deeply personal. Original timber doors, handcrafted tiles, and open-plan bathrooms reinforce the dialogue between heritage and contemporary living. Nothing feels standard. Everything feels chosen.

A House Made for Slow Living

The social heart of the hotel is a peaceful interior patio where breakfast, coffee, afternoon drinks, and evening conversations unfold beneath the Valencian sky. Breakfast itself has become something of a signature, reflecting Bertrand and Fabien’s Parisian background through beautifully prepared seasonal dishes, homemade preserves, regional produce, and organic ingredients. Service is highly personal, with recommendations tailored to each guest rather than delivered from a concierge desk. Hospitality here feels genuine. Never rehearsed.

Exploring Creative Valencia

La Novieta sits at the edge of Ruzafa, one of Valencia’s most creative districts. Independent cafés, wine bars, galleries, restaurants, and design shops are only a short walk away, while the historic centre and City of Arts and Sciences remain easily accessible. The neighbourhood continues to evolve. The hotel feels perfectly at home within it.

Why It Works

La Novieta succeeds because it understands that great design is deeply personal. Bertrand and Fabien have created more than a boutique hotel—they have created a beautifully curated home where architecture, vintage furniture, contemporary art, and thoughtful hospitality come together with remarkable authenticity. Small in scale, but unforgettable in character.
