Long before experiential hospitality became an industry buzzword, Our Habitas Tulum showed what it could look like in practice. Hidden between the Caribbean Sea and the dense jungle of Tulum, the property feels less like a conventional resort than a carefully woven part of its environment. Elevated wooden pathways wind through tropical vegetation towards a collection of palapa-roofed rooms constructed using traditional building techniques and locally sourced materials. Rather than imposing architecture onto the landscape, Habitas allows the landscape to shape the architecture.

The guestrooms embrace a relaxed, tactile approach to luxury. Canvas walls, handcrafted hardwood furniture, woven textiles, natural fibres, and open-air rain showers create spaces that feel intimately connected to their surroundings.
