The Source Hotel, Denver
Industrial Soul Meets Modern Mountain Cool in Denver
From Foundry to Destination
The Source breathes new life into an 1880s brick foundry, transforming it into a buzzing artisan market hall with a contemporary hotel woven seamlessly alongside. What could have been a straightforward adaptive reuse becomes something much bolder: a hybrid of historic grit and modern craft. On the ground floor, New Belgium Brewery anchors the energy with a ten-barrel system pouring experimental brews—available right from check-in. The hotel and the market hall share DNA, connected through patios, bridges, and a shared spirit of creativity that makes wandering between local eateries, shops, and your room feel effortless.
Design That Balances Raw & Refined
The interiors lean into the building’s industrial past without being weighed down by it. Polished concrete floors and exposed materials are softened by sleek Baltic birch joinery, custom-crafted by local artisans Winter Session. Expansive panes of glass frame the city and mountains beyond, while courtyards and green spaces breathe warmth into the modern palette of steel and concrete. A bridge elegantly links the historic hall with the new-build hotel, visually stitching together past and present. The design language is sharp, urban, but always softened by natural touches that ground it in Colorado.
Rooms with a Point of View
The Source’s 100 guestrooms are minimal yet deeply inviting, each one a study in balance: raw concrete underfoot, modern furniture paired with handcrafted wood accents, and sunlight pouring in through oversized windows. Some open to the leafy courtyard, others to the city skyline or the snow-dusted peaks of the Front Range. The Skyline Suite is the pinnacle—a modern apartment-like retreat with a custom sofa, wet bar, Calico wallpaper accents, and a freestanding Japanese-style soaking tub positioned for sunset views. Details like Revival linens, Winter Session benches, and Malin + Goetz amenities elevate the pared-back aesthetic into quiet luxury.
Social Spaces & Rooftop Rituals
The Woods restaurant and bar sits on the rooftop, its energy spilling out toward a pool deck with some of the best panoramic views in Denver. From here, the city stretches out below while the Rocky Mountains rise in cinematic layers to the west—a backdrop equally suited to sunrise yoga, poolside lounging, or sipping a hazy IPA at golden hour. Downstairs, a network of patios connects the market hall with the hotel, keeping the building’s social heartbeat pulsing day and night.
DNA Hotels Verdict
The Source Hotel is more than a place to stay—it’s Denver in microcosm: industrial grit, creative spirit, mountain views, and an obsession with craft, from beer to birchwood details. By blending a historic foundry with contemporary architecture and design, it captures the city’s forward-facing energy while keeping a foot firmly planted in its past. A stay here is urban and laid-back, raw and refined—just like Denver itself.
