Minimalism with Character
John Pawson and François Champsaur approached the interiors with remarkable restraint. White Bianco Neve marble, pale oak, linen, leather, and softly textured surfaces create a calming architectural language that allows light and proportion to take centre stage. The defining moment arrives immediately upon entering: a spectacular sculptural spiral staircase, polished to perfection, rises through the lobby without visible handrails, becoming one of the most memorable architectural features in any European hotel. Elsewhere, traditional Spanish references appear subtly through tapestries, handcrafted details, and abstract interpretations of Pedro de Ribera’s Baroque ornamentation. Nothing feels excessive.
