Velona’s Jungle Luxury Suites

The DNA

Velona’s Jungle Luxury Suites, Florence, Italy
An Eclectic Family Residence Where Mid-Century Design Meets Florentine Hospitality

Why DNA Hotels Loves It

● A deeply personal ten-suite retreat created inside the former home of one of Florence’s most respected antique dealers.
● Eclectic interiors layered with mid-century furniture, vintage treasures, bold textiles, and nature-inspired design.
● Warm, highly personalised hospitality that offers guests an authentic introduction to contemporary Florence.

A Family Story

Some hotels are designed. Velona’s Jungle Luxury Suites has grown naturally across three generations of one Florentine family. Originally the home of renowned antiques dealer Pasquale Velona, the apartment was transformed by his daughter Serena into an intimate boutique guesthouse before her daughter Veronica expanded the concept into one of Florence’s most distinctive places to stay. Family history remains present throughout, giving the hotel a warmth that cannot be designed. Hospitality feels genuinely personal. Every stay begins with a story.

A House of Beautiful Contrasts

The interiors celebrate individuality with remarkable confidence. Colourful wallpapers, lush botanical motifs, vintage furnishings, antique curiosities, handcrafted ceramics, and carefully sourced mid-century pieces create rooms that feel expressive without becoming overwhelming. Fabrics by Hermès, Dedar, Ralph Lauren, and Christian Lacroix sit comfortably alongside objects collected over decades, many carrying their own family history. Nothing feels conventional. Everything feels thoughtfully collected.

Suites Full of Personality

Each of the four suites explores nature through its own unique character. Inspired by explorers, wildlife, and distant landscapes, every room combines bold palettes with tactile materials, original vintage furniture, generous walk-in showers, and locally produced organic amenities. Rather than repeating a single design formula, each suite develops its own atmosphere while remaining unmistakably part of the same creative vision. Luxury feels intimate. Design becomes deeply personal.

The Art of Welcoming

At Velona’s Jungle, service is as carefully considered as the interiors. Breakfast arrives in each suite on a wooden trolley, featuring organic yoghurt, fresh fruit, warm vegan pastries, local cheeses, homemade preserves, and products sourced from Tuscany. Throughout the day, Veronica happily shares her favourite artisan workshops, neighbourhood restaurants, wine bars, and hidden corners of Florence, offering guests a perspective few guidebooks ever reveal. Hospitality feels effortless. Local knowledge becomes part of the experience.

A Different Side of Florence

Located just beyond Florence’s busiest streets, the hotel offers easy access to the historic centre while remaining connected to everyday Florentine life. The Arno, Cascine Park, artisan neighbourhoods, and countless independent cafés are all close by, allowing guests to experience the city at a gentler pace before returning to the calm of what feels more like an elegant private residence than a boutique hotel. The destination feels authentic. The atmosphere feels wonderfully relaxed.

Why It Works

Velona’s Jungle Luxury Suites succeeds because it places personality above perfection. By combining family heritage, exceptional design, genuine hospitality, and an unmistakable sense of place, it creates an experience that feels both stylish and sincerely welcoming. It is Florence at its most creative, intimate, and memorable.
